Buy PLR Articles And Get The Most Bang For Your Buck
Today I want to share my favorite strategies for using PLR articles with you. I buy plr articles  in my various niche sites (and even for the affiliate and internet marketing niche) but you may be surprised in exactly how I use them to “get the most bank for my buck”. In case your wondering, now I don’t look for the cheapest article packs I can find and I run anytime I see an offer to get 2 gazillion articles in 2500 different niches for 5 bucks.
Turn PLR Articles Into Blog Posts
For many of my smaller niches, I use PLR articles and turn them into informative blog posts. I change the title and keyword optimize. I then rewrite the first few sentences of the article to incorporate my keyword and edit the rest as needed to make it fit the exact topic and tone of my niche blog.
Since blog posts can be quite short, I will sometimes take just one key point or section of an article and use it as the basis of my post. I add my own intro and closing, an affiliate offer where applicable and some graphics, screenshots or even a good “how to” video from youtube.
Use PLR Articles For Article Marketing Inspiration
Don’t submit PLR articles to article directories unless you have completely rewritten them. I’m not a big fan of rewriting. Instead I browse through an article pack and use it as an idea generator for articles (and more blog posts for that matter). Often a single paragraph or bullet point from a PLR article will turn into a whole article I can quickly write and submit to EzineArticles.com and other article directories. (Don’t forget about my tips for getting articles to rank on Ezinearticles.com post from December)
Create Short Reports To Get More Optins
One thing I love about PLR article packs that include 10 or more articles on the same topic is that it is very simple to turn them into a short report. Start by arranging the articles in a logical order. Copy and past them into a word document, then add your own title page, author information and a “recommended resources section” at the end. Edit the content and include images, screenshots and the likes through out the content as needed. Convert your word document into a pdf and you have a short report that you can use as a “freebie” to get more optins.
Create Product or Affiliate Offer Bonuses
Then take that same short report and use it as a bonus for some of your other products. If you don’t have your own product, take that same report and offer it to product owners to give away as an extra bonus when someone purchases their product. If you are promothing something related as an affiliate, you can also use short reports created from PLR as a bonus to give to people who buy through your link.
Create Viral Reports For More Traffic
Use that same report and others and get them out there and allow people to share them. Include some of your affiliate links, and even better, make the report brandable and give other affiliates the option to use their affiliate links in the report and share it with thier list. Why would you want to do this? Because it’s your face, name and website ULR on the “About the Author” page you created for the report. For these types of reports, I recommend you also link to some of your best blog posts, any products you have and of course invite the reader to join one of your lists.
Take a look at http://www.brandablestuff.com/ for examples of these types of brandable and viral reports.
Use PLR To Create Audio And Video
We live in the multimedia age and many of our readers and subscribers prefer to listen to an audio recording or watch a video that teaches them something new. Instead of relying just on text, turn some of your plr articles into audios and videos. Creating an audio recording is as easy as pluggin in your mic and reading the article. You can create simple videos by either turning a flip camera at yourself and talking about the content of the article, or making a few powerpoint slides with the main content ideas and then using a program like camtasia to record yourself as you go through your mini presentation.
Nicole Dean from EasyPLR.com does a great job doing this. Here’s an example of an article of an article she wrote and then turned it into a video and uploaded it to Youtube. You can just as easily do this with good PLR articles.
Use It As The Starting Point For Your Products
Last but not least use PLR article packs as starting points for your own products. Owners of good quality PLR sites like Nicole who have been in business for years and years do a great job at researching hot and profitable niches. Use that to your advantage and make a pack of articles the starting point or beginning of your paid product. Expand on it, include various resources, worksheets and checklist and turn it into an ebook, video course or even membership site.
My challenge to you is to pick just one of the many different ways I mentioned for using PLR articles and then just do it. Buy some PLR or even better use some of the PLR you already have (provided it’s good quality) and put it to work for you. If you can do just one or two things off this list each week, you will quickly see more traffic, more sales and more money from each and every pack of PLR articles you buy.

P.S. I probably don’t have to tell you this if you’ve read this blog for any lenght of time, but my favorite source of PLR is Nicole Deans Easy PLR at http://www.affiliatenichepacks.com/easyplr . I use it in all the ways I mentioned above. Head on over there and browse through her article pack catalog and see if you can find some packs that are a good fit for your niche.
Next, comes the most important step. DO NOT LET THEM COLLECT VIRTUAL DUST ON YOUR HARDDRIVE. Put them to use and start driving tons of quality traffic to your website or blog, get more optin and profit to the max from each PLR article pack you buy.

I’m a bit of a control freak, so hiring someone to write my articles is a difficult decision. Personally, I prefer to do my own writing (again, I’m a control freak) and then outsource to someone to flip the articles to direct traffic.
Just my preference, but you do make a strong argument for buying articles. Definitely some food for thought for me. Thanks for sharing!
Hi Dave,
I am like you – a bit of a control freak. I like to do everything myself. But I’ve given in to have someone help us with our business. The problem with doing everything yourself (myself) is that we stunt our own growth. I can say this because I do it myself.
I love the ideas Susanne shares here about repurposing PLR. I had not thought of some of these ideas like podcasts or videos. And it’s so true about not submitting PLR to article directories without totally rewriting first. Not that we learned the hard way or anything like that :-)
Thanks for a very informative post about PLR, Susanne.
Hi Susanne,
Great post on the ways to use PLR!
I’ve done several of these ideas, but not all. I’m like you in that I can take bullet points and write articles around them. I appreciate that PLR writers do all the research for me.
Another thing I have done with PLR is rewritten it and added it to a site to flip.
One big benefit to using PLR is you can use one piece of PLR in several ways. I’ve used the same PLR to post as blog content, bundle into a report as a bonus, used for fodder for a membership site, and as part of an ecourse.
Thanks,
Peggy
P.S. I like Nicole’s PLR too. ;)
