The Productivity Challenge Continues …
I love Monday mornings!
That wasn’t always the case, back in my office days, Monday was my least favorite day of the week. But since I started doing what I love and created a business around it, Mondays are my favorite. I get a chance to plan what I’ll get accomplished this week and start implementing all of the ideas I had over the weekend when things were too busy to get much work done.
With that said, it’s going to be another busy week. I’m pushing myself hard to get as much done as possible before heading to NAMS. Next week will likely be about getting ahead of things so I don’t have to work on “regular stuff” while I’m busy teaching, learning, implementing and connecting for a long weekend at NAMS 7 in Atlanta.
This week though will be all about writing great content. I took some time this weekend to revisit my goals for January and it occurred to me that writing 1 guest blog post a day Monday – Friday won’t quite add up to the 50 guest posts I want to get done this month (my math teacher would be so proud :) ) For now I’m going to step things up a bit this week and write at least 10 guest blog posts.
- Write 10 guest blog posts.
- Get those posts submitted.
- Promote any guest blog posts that have been published.
- Write 3 blog posts for Affiliate Treasure Chest.
- Record 3 short audio tips on Cinch.
- Repurpose a few articles and blog posts, or write them from scratch and turn them into a short report for the Friday Freebie Section.
- Submit this report via report sharing sites like Scribd.
- Write 3 blog posts for the Daily Affiliate Tasks blog.
- Create a new DAT lesson.
- Social Media: Five Tweets and Five Facebook posts or comments per day.
- Comment on three other blogs per day.
- Get started on my NAMS presentation…and actually get it done this week :)
It’s gonna be a busy week, but it will be well worth the extra effort in the long run. I’m already starting to see more traffic, more comments, more subscribers and more sales from the extra effort I’ve been putting in these past two weeks.
Don’t forget to head on over to Peggy Barons Blog to see what she’s up to this week.
Peggy also had another great question for me.
One day I’d like to speak at a conference like NAMS. How do I go about being considered? What steps do I need to take to get noticed by the conference presenters?
I’ve only spoken on stage at NAMS and done some assorted webinars so I’m no speaker and can only share my own experience so far. NAMS works somewhat differently than other Internet Marketing Conferences. It’s not a pitch fest and you’re not required (in fact you’re not allowed) to sell some big program from the back of the room. NAMS is all about sharing great content and networking with other Affiliate Marketers.
David Perdew – the Founder and Organizer has a great philosophy and does everything he can to help each and every one of us succeed. I started out as a Student at NAMS 2 and NAMS 3. David invited me to attend NAMS 4 as an aide ( a person that helps keep things running during the workshop and assists the presenters). It was a great experience and I ended up sitting in on a panel discussion on Keyword Research, my first time on stage. I must have done pretty well, since I’ve been speaking at NAMS 5 and 6 and am coming back for another presentation at NAMS 7.
There are quite a few other speakers at NAMS that followed the student -> aide -> instructor path including Dan Morris, Chris Cobb and Kurt Scholle.
I think you would make a great addition to the NAMS team. My suggestion would be to talk to David about it in February or in a follow up email right after the event (the guy gets a bit busy during the event ).
And here’s my question for Peggy:
I love your Article Starter Packs. How did you come up with the idea for those?

P.S. I’m getting super productive before heading to NAMS – The Niche Affiliate Marketing Systems workshop in Atlanta Feb 10 – 12th. There’s still time to join me. I’d love to connect in person.

Hi Susanne,
I see from your post that we have 2 things in common – a love of Mondays and a little difficulty with math. :D
You’ve got a big To Do list again this week! I like how much of it is concentrating on tasks that will spread your brand while helping people. The guest posts are a perfect example.
Thanks for answering my questions about speaking at an internet marketing conference. I like how you “eased” into it by being on a discussion panel. That’s good information to know.
Have a great week!
Peggy
Susanne,
I want to thank you for all the great information you freely share with everyone. I have finally gotten it through my thick skull that one of the best ways to learn is watch successful people, and follow the steps they recommend.
You sharing your todo list with the rest of us is first of all a little daunting, especially for those of us at the bottom of the learning curve. It gives us a goal to shoot for, and a plan to follow.
Thanks much,
Grace
P.S. Thanks for introducing me to Cinch, I love it already!
Peggy, glad I’m not the only math challenged one.
The guest blogging is really starting to pay off – I’m very happy with the results already. Plus it gets easier and easier to both write them and ask people if they would like to post them on their sites.
Grace, I don’t work this hard all the time. I’d be burnt out in a matter of months. I’m just trying to push a little harder before going to NAMS, plus my husband is at the beach working hard on renovating the little place we bought in December. I feel like I need to do my part by working just as hard on our online business (and to help pay for all those Home Depot trips).
I’m glad you find it helpful. The important thing I want you to take away from this is that nothing I do is very complicated. It’s just a matter of sitting down and doing it.
If you’re blogging for yourself, you can also write a guest blog post for someone else. Just go do it :)
Glad you are enjoying Cinch. I’m still having a lot of fun with it too. Hopefully it’ll give both of use some added exposure and helps deepen the relationship we have our readers.
