I found this article very interesting and useful. I have found a very successful strategy using Google Keyword Tool. Since we sell international calendars, I looked for the most searched words that resulted from inputting calendar. Then we wrote articles targeted to the most searched keywords. Then we saved the articles so that the url had the targeted keywords for search engines. Then we went back and we wrote the titles to make them more interesting to the reader. We then started promoting the urls. We tripled our backlinks in a week.

Susanne, this sounds to be a brilliant idea. One of my friend had a sudden increase in his blog's traffic, when he looked into the stats its because of the post he has written on the heroes season 4, which is no way related to his niche. So what he did is continued writing 1 posts related to heroes out of 5 regular posts. Doing this he has consistently maintained the traffic. I find similarities in both of your approach. The hardest part is writing articles. I am very poor at it, however this is very lucrative and its luring to me write more. Thanks for sharing this tip.
