Building A Relationship With Your Readers Will Increase Affiliate Commissions
How would you like to make more sales and thus more (and even higher) affiliate commissions? Yep…thought so. Me too. That’s why I thought I’d share one of my best strategies with you today. It is building TRUST and we earn that trust by building a relationship with our readers.
T = Tell
Tell your readers about yourself, your day, anything that’s going on in your life. Give them a chance to get to know you. It will go a long way towards building trust.
R = Relate
Relate to your readers by talking about common experiences. Show them that you understand and share their problems. You accomplish this by getting into your prospect’s heads. Don’t thing of them as a huge crowd of people you preach to. Instead picture your perfect customer.
Create a fictional character that has all the characteristics of the people you want to reach and market to. Then, whenever you “talk” to your readers, pretend you are writing to this one person.
U = Understand
We already touched on this briefly, but make sure you understand what your readers problems, issues, fears and hopes are. Address those and provide them with affiliate offers that help solve those problems or get them one step closer to their goals, hopes and dreams.
S = Say Thank You
This may seem simple, but what your Mama taught you when you were four still applies. Thank your readers for signing up, taking the time to read what you have to share. Give them something extra along the way, a free ebook, a report, a special coupon. Acknowledge that you value them. As everything else, it will go a long way towards building trust.
T = Take Notice
Pay attention and take notice when your readers tell you what they like and don’t like. They are often your best source of information when it comes to figuring out what content to create next or what offers to make. Encourage your readers to comment on your articles or email you with suggestions and questions.
By the way…I just picked up a new Verizon Droid phone today and am writing this post from my phone. It is a little slower than typing on a full keyboard, but so far I’m liking it. I will give you a full review in a few days.
I do already like the extra mobility this little device is giving me. I started outlining this post while I was waiting in line to pick my daughter up from school last week. I wrote most of it this weekend sitting on a bench in the sun while my daughter was playing at the playground.

P.S. One of my favorite ways to stay in touch and build that relationship is by building a list and then providing my readers with great content…exactly what I am doing here (you are on the list I hope). I use Aweber to manage all my lists.

Good stuff.
One of the Huge difference I noticed people who generates trust naturally and those who don’t is the “willingness to accept people”.
Now that sounds little odd. But when you start looking around you, you’ll notice. Good communicates are willing to accept you as you are. Not who you’d be or who you might have been.
Carrying it over to internet is bit hard but as you start writing, anyone can improve.
