Using Twitter In Your Blog and Vice Versa
Yesterday I mentioned how I use twitter in combination with article marketing. Today I want to share a few ways I use twitter in my blog and my blog in my twitter stream.
To begin with, almost everything I talked about yesterday about using twitter in combination with your Ezinearticle account, applies to your blogging and twitter as well. You can ask your followers questions or get feedback from them to come up with new blog post ideas. You can tweet while you are working on a blog post etc.
I also like to tweet on occasion to get comments on my posts. Ask a question related to the topic of your post and request that replies are made as comments.
Of course you can also have your blog posts automatically tweeted – similar to what Ezinearticles.com does when you link your twitter account in. If you are using WordPress as your blogging platform (which I highly recommend), you can use a plugin called Twitter Tools to auto-tweet for you every time you publish a new post. This works really well if you schedule posts ahead of time.
A word of caution – don’t rely just on autotweet functions like this. You still want to have quite a few “live” tweets as well. Take the time to build relationships and have real conversations via twitter in addition to these auto tweet features.
I actually had a short conversation via twitter on just this topic earlier today.
@AngelaWills asked:
do you like automatic blog post or article tweets? thinking of taking mine off and having no automation, just me on twitter.
And here’s my reply (which seems to be in line with the other responses Angela got.
@AngelaWills I think they are ok as long as they don’t make up most of your tweets.
Twitter Tools does more than auto tweet your posts (though that’s the only thing I use it for currently). If you feel so inclined, you can also have each tweet become a blog post, or set it up to blog weekly or monthly digests of all your tweets.
I also like to use tweets in my blog posts. Either the way I did above, or by taking a screenshot of the actual tweet and including it in the post (I did this in my content challenge post for example).
How about you? How are you using twitter in combination with your blog (or any other platform for that matter).

P.S. Since we’re talking about twitter … there’s some DM Pfishing and twitter scams going on. My friend Nicole Dean blogged about it this morning here: http://www.nicoleonthenet.com/4338/twitter-scams-pfishing/
