It Doesn’t Have To Be Perfect – Overcoming Procrastination
Do you ever come across a message and think “That’s just what I needed to hear right now”? I had one of those moments yesterday while eating dinner. We grabbed take-out Chinese. Below is a picture of my fortune cookie message:

In case you can’t read it it says: “The smallest deed is better than the biggest intention.”
Why did I need to hear this, particularly this week? Mainly because I’ve been procrastinating quite a bit myself here lately; always thinking that things aren’t quite perfect yet and that there are some things I could do to improve “stuff”.
This holds true for some products I’ve been working on as well as some short reports that pretty much finished. You probably also have noticed that I haven’t blogged much this week. Well, in fact I have, I just haven’t hit the “publish” button yet on three different posts.
That’s why I really needed to read this short little message in the fortune cookie. What I’m taking away from it, is that I need to stop worrying about having something be perfect or all-in-compassing. Instead, if I think it will be of value (ideally lots of value), I need to go a head and take action. I need to publish those blog posts, put up those short reports so you can download and read them and finish those products that are more than 50% done. Afterall, if I’m not taking action, you can’t learn what you need to know to take action. With that said, I’m getting back to work.

Okay, Susanne… you’ve been reading my mind! ;)
I am the Queen of procrastination, especially when it’s a project (website and/or product) that is near-and-dear to my heart. Every word, every thought, is like a beloved child to me.
My own real flesh-and-blood beloved child, Nicole Dean, reminded me last night that ebooks, websites, and the like are CHANGEABLE! Yes, I can get the product out there, or write the blog, and when the spirit moves me, I can change it! Yippee! I can insert pictures as I get them, add information as I receive it, and give the whole thing a new look whenever I want to! The beauty of e-stuff! :)
Thanks again, Susanne, for sharing your inspiration with us today. The procrastination gremlin has been run out of town – hopefully for good. Well, even if it sneaks back in, at least I have a fighting chance! Thanks!
I need this as well. I am one of those all or nothing type people. If I am not going to do it big I am not doing it at all. I really need to overcome that!
