Is Your Site Ready For 2013?

I’m back and ready for 2013. How about you? I spent a little time at the beginning of this year, getting my sites (including my niche sites) ready for the New Year.I thought I’d share some of the things I’ve done with you today.

1) Copyright Info And Dates

Let’s start with something cosmetic. Take a look at the copyright information at the bottom of your websites. Does it say 2013? If not, go in and get that taken care of. It may seem like a small thing, but it shows your readers that your site and the content on it is current.

Here’s what the bottom of my blog looked like a few days ago:

Take a look at it now … it’s been updated to 2013. Much better :)

2) WordPPress and Plugins

While you’re in there updating, make sure your WordPress installation, your themes and ALL your plugins are up to date. I recently had a bit of a scare on one of my sites because I haven’t been as vigilant as I should have been in updating this. Set aside some time this week to do these updates or hire a VA to do it for you.

3) Revisiting Products and Reports

Last but not least, I started making a list of all my products, reports and such that need to be updated with more current information. I recommend you do the same. Start with your most popular products and reports and work your way down the list.

I’m finding that as I’m working on these pieces of content, I’m getting ideas for new blog posts, articles,  short reports, ebooks and the likes that I’ll be coming out with in the coming months.

What are you going to do this week to get your niche sites ready for 2013?
